...i am a Minang !

This is a song sang by a blind but very talented  Indonesian...a Minangkabau ( i guess)
He sang with his ' guitar kapak'...making it sounds as though he is singing with a band!

I remember how abah used to play his 'record player'...which i guess was the only device one could use to listen to recorded songs. Cd's and Computers were way out of the story ...
Zulkarnaen was among all that let me understand some of the Minang's version ...though i had troubles understanding at the very first time i heard...
but having to listen to it over a thousand times...i became a real Minang!
Not to mention some other Minang songs sang by Elly kassim and Tiaramon!

Lorong Raja Uda will always be on my mind...
A place where i had the chance to'live' with abah, along and angah...even though it was only for a week during school holidays...
Abah will fetch me from atuk's house...to stay for a day or two in abah's house...in KL
A memorable place where i used to walk together with my other sister Aloi ( stepsister actually ) to GH to meet up with my step mother ( arwah ) whom was working there as Ayamah...
She's a lady with a smile...seemed like she knows everybody in the hospital !
I guess ...during those days...walking for several miles was never a problem...
and...
We never get back empty handed...
There's always something that we need to bring home.

Going to Chow Kit daily market was one common routine that i did during my stay...
Me and my stepmother will walk along TPCA ,Jalan Raja Uda then to Chow Kit to get some groceries and did her marketing

Everything now...is only a memory.
